Who I am
DB Digital Marketing is a freelance digital marketing business based in Northamptonshire, UK, operated by David Buxton. This website is located at dbdigital.marketing.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website and any direct communications with me.
02
What I collect
I keep data collection to the minimum needed to communicate with you and deliver my services. The only personal information I collect is:
- Email address — when you contact me through the website, send me an email directly, or subscribe to any future newsletter or update list.
- Any information you choose to include — such as your name or business details, if you include these in a message or enquiry.
I do not collect payment information, sensitive personal data, or any data from third parties about you.
03
How I use it
Your email address and any details you share are used solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry or message
- Discuss and deliver the services you've requested
- Send you updates or information you've specifically asked to receive
The lawful basis for processing your contact details is legitimate interest (responding to your direct enquiry) or, where applicable, your consent (for any marketing communications).
I will never use your email address for unsolicited marketing, and I will never sell, rent, or trade your contact details to any third party.
04
Cookies
This website uses a minimal number of cookies. There are no advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies in use. The only cookies that may be set are:
- Essential session cookies — small, temporary files required for basic website functionality. These are deleted when you close your browser and contain no personal information.
No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies under UK PECR guidance. If you'd prefer to manage cookies yourself, you can control them through your browser settings — though disabling essential cookies may affect how the site functions.
05
Sharing your data
I do not sell, share, or disclose your personal information to third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — I may use trusted tools to manage email communications (such as an email client or CRM). These providers act as data processors on my behalf and are bound by appropriate data protection terms.
- Legal obligation — If required to do so by law or a regulatory authority, I may need to disclose certain information.
Any third-party tools I use are chosen carefully and limited to those that meet UK GDPR standards.
06
How long I keep it
I retain your contact details only for as long as is necessary for the purpose they were collected:
- Enquiries that don't proceed to a project are typically deleted within 12 months.
- Client contact details are retained for the duration of a working relationship and up to 6 years afterwards, in line with standard UK business record-keeping requirements.
- If you ask to be removed from any mailing list, your email address will be deleted promptly.
07
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("the right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict how your data is processed
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these rights, please get in touch using the contact details below. I will respond within 30 days.
